CAMTEL and the National Association of Private Institutions of Higher Education of Cameroon (ANIPES) have signed a Framework Agreement to accelerate the digital transformation and modernisation of private higher education institutions across Cameroon.
The partnership, signed on September 2, 2026, will provide participating institutions with improved connectivity and technology solutions aimed at strengthening teaching, administration and digital services.
Under the agreement, CAMTEL will make its telecommunications infrastructure, technical expertise and technological capabilities available to private institutions of higher education to help address the growing demand for reliable digital infrastructure.
Participating institutions will gain access to reliable broadband connectivity, supporting access to online educational resources and digital services for students, educators and administrators.
The partnership will also support the interconnection of campuses, enabling the secure and efficient exchange of information between different institutional locations.
CAMTEL will further provide secure and sovereign data-hosting solutions, helping institutions strengthen data protection while maintaining greater control over their digital information.
In addition, private higher education institutions will have access to digital solutions tailored to their operational needs, with the aim of improving efficiency, competitiveness and the adoption of emerging technologies.
CAMTEL and ANIPES say the agreement reflects a shared commitment to building a more connected, secure and digitally enabled private higher education sector in Cameroon.
The initiative highlights the growing importance of telecommunications infrastructure in modern education as institutions increasingly rely on digital platforms, online resources and connected services to support learning and administration.
