Ghana’s National Communications Authority (NCA) has closed applications for spectrum licences in the 700MHz, 2.3GHz and 3GHz mid-bands, which are intended to support mobile broadband services, including 5G.
The application deadline ended at 5:00 p.m., with the NCA receiving four applications for the available spectrum licences.
Following the close of submissions, the authority opened Envelope A in accordance with the published Selection and Award Procedure. Envelope B, containing the Best Price Offer, remains sealed as the licensing process progresses.
The NCA clarified that the opening of Envelope A was an administrative step and does not constitute an assessment or determination of the eligibility, compliance or completeness of the applications received.
The authority said further updates on the spectrum licensing process will be communicated through its official channels as the process moves forward.
