Ghana is strengthening its efforts to protect children from online sexual exploitation and abuse following a two-day stakeholder workshop organised by the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) in collaboration with UNICEF Ghana.
The Consultative and Validation Workshop brought together key national stakeholders to assess Ghana’s existing response to Online Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (OCSEA) and identify areas where stronger intervention is needed.
Discussions focused on improving coordination among institutions responsible for child online protection, strengthening prevention and response mechanisms, and building the capacity of frontline personnel handling cases of online abuse.
Participants also highlighted the need for interventions to reflect both national and district-level realities, recognising that communities can face different challenges when responding to online threats against children.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts to strengthen Ghana’s online child protection ecosystem and improve the country’s capacity to prevent, identify and respond to emerging digital risks affecting children.
