The Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) has appointed Yodit Kassa as Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of founding CEO Dr. Tilahun Esmael Kassahun.
Kassa previously served as ESX’s Chief Operating Officer and has been involved with the exchange since its project development phase, giving her extensive experience with the institution’s establishment and early operations.
Tilahun leaves the exchange after overseeing several key milestones, including its launch, capital raising, development of trading infrastructure and expansion of the early securities market.
In her new role, Kassa is expected to focus on expanding listings, increasing investor participation and developing new products as ESX continues to strengthen Ethiopia’s capital markets.
The leadership transition comes as ESX enters its next phase of development, with the exchange seeking to broaden market participation and deepen the range of investment opportunities available to investors.
