Master Power Technologies (MPT) has officially unveiled its new Customer Experience Centre and regional headquarters in Midrand, marking a major milestone in the company’s continued expansion and its commitment to strengthening Africa’s rapidly growing data centre infrastructure.

The new 6,000m² facility, strategically located between Johannesburg and Pretoria, will serve as MPT’s African headquarters and accommodate approximately 200 employees. It also houses a state-of-the-art Customer Experience Centre, representing a R50 million investment designed to showcase the company’s engineering capabilities while providing customers, partners and trainees with hands-on access to critical data centre technologies.

The Experience Centre features advanced testing facilities, including a 2 MVA UPS test platform and a 400kW cooling systems test centre—the most comprehensive of its kind in Africa. These facilities enable performance testing to European certification standards, reinforcing MPT’s commitment to delivering reliable, energy-efficient and high-performance infrastructure solutions. The launch builds on the company’s achievement of becoming the first African business certified as an Endorser of the European Code of Conduct for Energy Efficiency in Data Centres in 2025.

Beyond product demonstrations, the centre serves as a hub for engineering collaboration, technical training and innovation. It also showcases MPT’s proprietary Advanced Infrastructure Visual Analytics (AIVA) platform, which monitors and analyses performance across more than 200 data centres throughout Africa, providing customers with advanced operational insights and infrastructure management capabilities.

The investment highlights MPT’s commitment to local engineering and manufacturing, with modular data centre and energy centre solutions assembled within Africa to meet regional requirements while supporting local industry. As demand for resilient, scalable and energy-efficient digital infrastructure continues to rise, the new facility positions Master Power Technologies to play an even greater role in supporting digital transformation across Africa and the Middle East.
