AVEVA is accelerating its Africa growth strategy by focusing on six priority markets as demand for industrial digitalisation and AI-driven operations continues to rise across the continent. The company is positioning itself at the centre of Africa’s industrial transformation agenda, where efficiency, energy optimisation, and data-led decision-making are becoming critical.
According to AVEVA’s Vice President for Africa, Khaled Salah, the company’s expansion strategy targets Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria in North Africa, alongside South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya in Sub-Saharan Africa. These markets were selected due to their industrial maturity, strong talent pools, improving regulatory environments, and increasing investment in digital transformation.
The expansion comes at a time when Africa is under pressure to modernise its industrial base while navigating major structural challenges such as energy shortages and infrastructure gaps. AVEVA notes that the future of industrial growth on the continent will depend heavily on how effectively AI demand is balanced with limited energy supply and aging systems.
Rather than focusing solely on new energy generation, AVEVA is emphasising optimisation of existing industrial systems. Through its software platforms, the company works with industries such as mining, energy, and manufacturing to unlock efficiencies that can reduce energy consumption by 10% to 20%, while redirecting saved capacity toward economic growth and emerging AI workloads.
The company also highlights the importance of turning AI insights into real-world operational action. While many organisations across Africa are experimenting with AI, AVEVA argues that true value is only realised when data-driven insights translate into execution at scale. With South Africa emerging as a key hub, supported by expanded local teams and a partner-led growth model, AVEVA is positioning itself to support Africa’s shift from digital experimentation to full industrial transformation.
