Cisco has announced a major expansion of its Secure AI Factory in collaboration with NVIDIA, introducing a comprehensive framework designed to help organisations deploy artificial intelligence across both centralised data centres and distributed edge environments. The initiative addresses a critical challenge for enterprises: moving AI initiatives from pilot stages to secure, full-scale production while reducing deployment timelines from months to weeks.
The expanded Secure AI Factory enables AI inference closer to where data is generated, supporting low-latency processing in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, and telecommunications. By integrating NVIDIA RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell Server Edition GPUs into Cisco’s UCS and Unified Edge portfolios, enterprises can run mission-critical AI workloads at the edge without the complexity and cost of full-scale data centre infrastructure.
At the service provider level, the Cisco AI Grid combines Cisco’s Mobility Services Platform with NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPU architecture, empowering telecom operators to deliver managed AI services with carrier-grade reliability and data sovereignty. Meanwhile, Cisco is also scaling performance for large AI environments with high-capacity networking solutions, including the 102.4Tbps N9100 switch and 800G Spectrum-4 based switches, supported by Nexus Hyperfabric and Nexus One platforms for simplified full-stack deployments.
Security is a central pillar of the initiative, with protection embedded across the AI stack. Cisco’s Hybrid Mesh Firewall and AI Defense, integrated with NVIDIA BlueField DPUs and NeMo Guardrails, safeguard AI models, agents, and distributed workloads. Additionally, support for NVIDIA OpenShell runtimes ensures continuous governance and monitoring of autonomous AI actions, bridging the gap between innovation and operational risk.
Industry experts highlight that the collaboration positions Cisco and NVIDIA to simplify AI infrastructure deployment while enhancing scalability, performance, and security. By enabling organisations to operationalise AI at scale and closer to the edge, the Secure AI Factory is set to accelerate enterprise adoption of AI and intelligent automation across multiple sectors worldwide.
