The platform leverages Ethio telecom’s robust digital infrastructure, including fast connectivity, cloud services, a modular data center, and the expanding reach of the telebirr digital payment system.
The digital commerce system is strategically designed to foster inclusion, streamline transactions, and minimize intermediaries. It offers reliable, secure, and centralized access to goods and services while increasing transparency, efficiency, and productivity within supply chains. Zemen GEBEYA reflects a vision of nationwide accessibility and empowerment through technology.
With a strong focus on empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), the platform expands market access and enables these businesses to participate fully in the digital economy. Zemen GEBEYA is integrated within the Telebirr SuperApp and includes multiple digital tools: a merchant portal, a logistics management system, consumer and dispatcher mobile apps, and a system administration portal. Already, 42 businesses and logistics providers have joined the platform, signaling readiness for immediate nationwide adoption.
