Metrofile Kenya has entered a strategic partnership with the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) to drive digital transformation in Kenya’s records management sector. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy’s (MICDE) Strategic Plan (2023-2027), marking a major milestone in the shift towards secure and efficient digital record-keeping practices. By modernizing records management, this collaboration will enhance productivity across government and private sectors, reducing the losses incurred by outdated, paper-based systems.

The partnership, launched at the 8th annual KARMA conference at Lake Naivasha, showcases Metrofile’s EverFiles platform, which offers an innovative approach to streamline record-keeping, reduce costs, and strengthen data sovereignty. Jackline Mburu, Metrofile Kenya Managing Director, emphasized that effective records management is crucial for a robust digital economy, noting that EverFiles provides seamless access to vital information, empowering both businesses and government agencies to manage their digital assets confidently.

This collaboration comes as Kenya advances its digital transformation goals, with over 19,000 government services already digitized to support transparency, accountability, and economic growth. ICT and Digital Economy CS Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u commended Metrofile and KARMA for their commitment, underscoring the importance of secure and integrated data management in realizing Kenya’s vision for a digital-first economy.

As part of the partnership, Metrofile and KARMA are also committed to promoting professional growth through the Women in Records & Information Management (WORM) initiative. WORM will create career opportunities, encourage knowledge-sharing, and cultivate best practices in digital records management, especially for young professionals and women in the industry.

With Metrofile’s deep experience as an end-to-end solution provider in physical and digital records management, the collaboration is poised to establish Kenya as a leader in digital records transformation. Metrofile operates across Africa and the Middle East, leveraging decades of expertise to support organizations in embracing a secure, digital-first approach to records management.

Through this partnership, Metrofile and KARMA are setting new benchmarks for records management in Kenya, empowering organizations with the tools to embrace a digital economy. As Kenya advances its national digitization agenda, this partnership will help pave the way towards a more efficient, economically vibrant future.
