Teledoctor, a technology-driven public health and medical service provider, has partnered with OneLife Assurance to revolutionize healthcare delivery in Zambia. This collaboration aims to integrate Teledoctor’s telehealth services with OneLife Assurance’s offerings to enhance the accessibility and quality of healthcare for Zambians.
Through this partnership, OneLife Assurance policyholders will gain access to a range of Teledoctor’s virtual healthcare services, including 24/7 cardiovascular monitoring, home doctor visits, and diagnostic support. The integration allows policyholders to book online medical consultations via the Teledoctor app or website, offering flexibility and convenience.
Teledoctor’s virtual appointments, which range from 15 minutes to an hour, are designed to provide comprehensive medical care. However, a minimum connection speed of 700kbps is required for these consultations, which could be a limitation in areas with poor network coverage.
Ntontela Siwale, MD of OneLife Assurance, emphasized that this partnership is a major step toward fulfilling the company’s mission of bridging gaps in healthcare accessibility. The goal is to ensure that quality medical care is available to individuals regardless of their location within Zambia.
Professor Wilbroad Mutale, CEO of Teledoctor, highlighted that this collaboration demonstrates the transformative potential of technology when applied to the healthcare sector. The partnership underscores the power of combining efforts to enhance healthcare services and reach underserved populations.
Overall, this initiative represents a significant advancement in improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Zambia, setting a precedent for future collaborations in the region.
