With its services currently reaching over 4,000 clinics and impacting more than 3 million people, Thalia is on a trajectory for rapid growth. The company aims to expand its reach to 58 million people within the next two years, leveraging Kenya’s Universal Health Care (UHC) initiative and similar collaborations with other African governments.

The investment from Villgro Africa will support Thalia’s ambitious plans to scale operations across seven African markets, including Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda. A key aspect of this expansion is the development of a result-based financing model, such as an impact bond, which is being created in collaboration between Thalia and Villgro.
This impact bond aims to align with the broader universal mental health theme, making mental health care accessible and affordable for every Kenyan under the UHC framework.
