TECNO has teamed up with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Nigeria to enhance the Nigeria Learning Passport, a groundbreaking digital learning platform. This platform provides curriculum-aligned educational materials in local languages, delivered both online and offline, ensuring that children can access high-quality education anytime and anywhere.

The initiative is designed to offer comprehensive educational content, including basic learning, skills development, and professional training for educators. With this partnership, TECNO aims to reach children in remote and underserved areas, helping to bridge educational gaps and provide quality learning opportunities.

The Nigeria Learning Passport has already expanded to 19 states, making it the second-largest program among all participating countries with approximately 888,000 registered users. TECNO’s collaboration with UNICEF will further advance the platform’s reach and effectiveness by enhancing content development, acquiring and maintaining technological equipment, and supporting educator professional development.

UNICEF’s goal for this year is to extend offline content to 50,000 children in low-income and remote regions, thereby closing the education gap and improving educational quality across Nigeria. Cristian Munduate, UNICEF’s country representative, highlighted that this partnership will help provide quality education to children in remote areas, empowering them for a brighter future.

Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO, emphasized that investing in education is crucial for breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering social and economic development. He pointed out that Africa’s young population presents an opportunity for significant progress, and through the Learning Passport program, TECNO aims to contribute to this growth.

By the end of 2023, the Learning Passport program had reached 38 countries with 6.02 million users and over 13,000 courses, demonstrating its global impact and commitment to enhancing educational access.
