This Tier 3+ facility is equipped with Schneider Electric’s MV and LV switchgear, ensuring stable and reliable cloud services powered by Kenya’s renewable energy grid.
Designed as a carrier-neutral, AI-ready data centre, NBOX1 aims to enhance East Africa’s digital landscape by attracting hyperscale and internet customers. It promises a customer experience comparable to facilities in North America and Western Europe, supporting cloud, colocation, and connectivity services.
Underpinning NBOX1 is Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for Data Centers architecture, guaranteeing maximum resilience, uptime, and cost efficiency. This includes robust security measures and a commitment to sustainability, aligning with IXAfrica’s environmental goals.
Located in Kenya’s burgeoning ‘Digital Savannah’, NBOX1 is strategically positioned to serve over 300 million people, fostering innovation and economic growth in the region’s technology sector. The data centre leverages Kenya’s stable regulatory environment and robust economy forecasted to grow by 5.2% in 2024.
