Nokia and Telecom Egypt announce a landmark deal to bring 5G connectivity to Egypt for the first time, scheduled for deployment later this year.
The initiative aims to enhance connectivity across key cities like Alexandria, Aswan, Cairo, Giza, and Luxor, addressing the growing demand for high-speed internet in densely populated areas.
Telecom Egypt, having secured Egypt’s first 5G license earlier this year, values the agreement at $150 million, signaling a significant investment in advancing the nation’s telecommunications infrastructure over the next 15 years.
Nokia will leverage its AirScale portfolio to provide cutting-edge equipment, including Massive MIMO radios, baseband units, and remote radio heads, alongside comprehensive services such as deployment, integration, and network optimization.
