Investors and stakeholders in Kenya’s vibrant tourism sector are gearing up for the 14th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE), scheduled from October 2nd-4th, 2024, at Uhuru Gardens, Nairobi. Tourism PS John Ololtuaa emphasizes MKTE’s pivotal role in connecting local enterprises, especially MSMEs, with global markets, fostering growth and diversification within Kenya’s tourism landscape.

With over 3,000 delegates from 25 countries attending last year, MKTE continues to be a catalyst for expanding Kenya’s tourism footprint globally. This year’s expo aims to attract 5,000 delegates and 160 hosted buyers, including key markets from the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Africa, enhancing opportunities for partnership and collaboration.

The expo returns as a standalone event after a successful joint expo last year, reaffirming its commitment to promoting Kenya’s diverse tourism offerings to a global audience. PS Ololtuaa underscores the ministry’s dedication to creating an enabling environment through policy reforms and public-private sector engagements to support tourism businesses at all levels.

June Chepkemei, CEO of Kenya Tourism Board (KTB), anticipates MKTE 2024 to build on past successes, offering an accessible platform for Kenyan travel trade and county governments to engage with international suppliers. The focus remains on destination diversification and achieving the targeted 3 million visitors by the end of 2024.

Let’s seize the opportunities at MKTE 2024 to promote Kenya as a premier tourism destination and explore new avenues for growth and collaboration! 🌟
