Jambojet is set to launch its new Mombasa-Zanzibar route on July 1st, 2024, marking a significant boost for tourism and trade between Kenya and Tanzania.
The new direct flights will start from USD 109, offering fares at least 40% cheaper than current standard prices, making travel between Mombasa and Zanzibar more affordable and convenient.
Jambojet plans to operate four non-stop flights per week initially, with future plans to increase to six flights. The route will cut travel time significantly to just 55 minutes each way, compared to lengthy road trips or indirect flight routes.
These flights are strategically timed for seamless connections to and from Nairobi and Dubai, enhancing connectivity within East Africa and beyond.
Tanzania’s Acting High Commissioner to Kenya, Yohanna Kibesse, highlighted the route’s potential to strengthen historical ties and economic opportunities, particularly in tourism and hospitality.
Jambojet MD and CEO, Karanja Ndegwa, emphasized that the new route will promote tourism and business between Kenya and Tanzania, fostering stronger bilateral relations and economic ties.
