Sophos, a global leader in innovative security solutions, is proud to announce Joe Levy as the new CEO. Joe, who has been with Sophos for nine years, has been acting CEO since February 15th. Under his leadership, Sophos has transformed from a product-only vendor into a global cybersecurity giant, including the development of an incident response team and managed detection and response (MDR) service that protects over 21,000 organizations worldwide.
In a strategic move to drive future growth, Joe Levy has appointed Jim Dildine as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Jim brings exceptional operational expertise from his previous roles at Imperva, Symantec, and Blue Coat Systems. His extensive experience in the cybersecurity sector will be invaluable as Sophos continues to scale its operations and expand its market presence.
Joe Levy’s nearly 30-year career in cybersecurity has seen him innovate and lead product development and services. At Sophos, he established SophosAI and Sophos X-Ops, an operational threat intelligence unit that enhances all of Sophos’ solutions with real-time and historical attack data. His experience working with managed security providers (MSPs) is crucial as he aims to expand Sophos’ customer base in the midmarket, which currently includes nearly 600,000 customers and generates over $1.2 billion in annual revenue.
Sophos is on a mission to improve cybersecurity for midmarket organizations, which are often under-protected despite being critical to the global economy. Joe Levy emphasizes the importance of protecting these organizations to prevent collateral damage in supply chains and ensure the smooth functioning of business activities worldwide. Sophos aims to achieve this by collaborating with MSPs and channel partners to deliver innovative endpoint, network, email, and cloud security solutions.
Jim Dildine’s addition as CFO aligns with Sophos’ goal of reaching new business heights. His history of financial leadership and successful integrations at previous companies positions him to significantly contribute to Sophos’ future growth. Jim is excited to join Sophos at a time when the company is poised to break through to the next level, driven by constant innovation and a commitment to supporting channel partners and staff globally.
Thoma Bravo, a key partner of Sophos, has expressed strong support for Joe Levy and Jim Dildine’s leadership. Chip Virnig, a partner at Thoma Bravo and a Sophos board member, highlighted their successful history and the promising future of Sophos under their combined expertise. With this strong leadership team, Sophos is well-positioned to continue its trajectory as a leader in the cybersecurity industry.
