GCA Plans Worlds Largest Nature Based Office in Nairobi,Grounbreaking in March

The Global Centre on Adaptation (GCA) is set to establish its exclusive African base in Nairobi, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for March, according to Patrick Verkooijen, CEO of GCA and Chancellor of the @University of Nairobi. In a recent appearance on Citizen TV’s JKLive Show, Verkooijen revealed that Nairobi was chosen as the regional headquarters, influenced in part by a visit from President William Ruto to the organization’s floating office during a state visit to the Netherlands last year. GCA, an international organization facilitating adaptation solutions, collaborates with public and private sectors to accelerate climate-resilient initiatives for a sustainable future.

The official groundbreaking for GCA’s Nairobi headquarters marks a significant step in fostering collaboration for climate resilience. Prof. Verkooijen emphasized the pivotal role of President Ruto in influencing the decision, highlighting GCA’s commitment to partnership and shared learning.
