MTN Zambia Foundation has launched the Nachiyaba ICT Hub at Nachiyaba Secondary School in Chibombo, Zambia, as part of efforts to expand digital inclusion and access to technology.
The initiative includes the donation of 10 computers and the conversion of a refurbished container into a functional ICT Hub, giving learners a dedicated space to develop digital skills and access technology-based learning resources.
The facility will also serve the surrounding community, enabling young people and other community members to access digital resources, build new skills and connect with educational opportunities.
The launch brought together the District Commissioner as Guest of Honour, the Ward Councillor, community leaders, school management, teachers, learners, MTN Zambia Foundation representatives and other stakeholders.
MTN Zambia Foundation said the hub forms part of its broader efforts to use ICT to support education and skills development, including through programmes such as the MTN Skills Academy, which provides young people with digital courses and learning resources.
The Foundation said the hub will give learners opportunities to explore technology beyond the classroom while developing skills that can support pathways into education, employment and entrepreneurship.
