Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda is set to receive a boost following a new partnership between the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
The two organisations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at GITEX Nigeria 2026, establishing a framework for collaboration on enterprise digital transformation and the growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
The partnership will focus on promoting technology adoption, digital innovation and capacity development, with particular attention to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the wider business community.
NITDA and NACCIMA will also work to strengthen collaboration among government, the private sector, technology companies, academia, investors and development institutions. The partnership is expected to support joint advocacy initiatives and programmes aimed at building a more competitive and inclusive digital economy.
A key area of collaboration will be the development and institutionalisation of the Digital Nigeria International Conference (DNICE) 2026 and future editions. The conference is expected to provide a platform for deeper stakeholder partnerships while supporting digital transformation and economic growth.
NITDA said the agreement reinforces its commitment to working with the private sector and other stakeholders to accelerate Nigeria’s transition towards a digitally enabled, innovative and globally competitive economy.
The partnership highlights the growing importance of coordinated public-private collaboration in helping Nigerian businesses adopt technology, strengthen digital capabilities and participate more effectively in the digital economy.
