NITDA, in partnership with the Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering (CITE) at the University of Port Harcourt, has concluded the CITE-NITDA Tech Stars 2026 programme in Port Harcourt, completing a series of intensive ICT training initiatives across five Nigerian states.
The one-month programme equipped primary, junior and senior secondary school students with foundational knowledge in artificial intelligence, robotics, coding and data science. The initiative is aimed at strengthening early digital literacy and preparing young Nigerians to participate in the country’s growing digital economy.
The Port Harcourt programme followed similar training sessions held in Kwara, Jigawa, Gombe and Kano states. Across the five locations, students were introduced to emerging technologies, practical problem-solving and innovation.
Participants at the Port Harcourt closing ceremony received certificates, while outstanding students were recognised with prizes including laptop computers and tablets.
The programme reflects ongoing efforts to develop technology talent from an early age and encourage young Nigerians to apply digital skills and creativity to solving real-world challenges.
