Liberia is strengthening regional cooperation on digital transformation and public-sector governance through engagements involving the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA), Sierra Leone’s National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) and Liberia’s Public Procurement and Concessions Commission (PPCC).

The discussions focused on how digital transformation can improve the efficiency, transparency and accountability of public institutions, while strengthening cooperation between Liberia and Sierra Leone.

LTA Board Chairman Clarence K. Massaquoi emphasised the importance of embracing digital transformation to improve institutional efficiency and accountability. Sierra Leone NPPA CEO Chief Fodie J. Konneh highlighted public procurement as a key foundation for effective e-governance and called for stronger institutional collaboration between the two countries.

The engagement also builds on the PPCC’s recognition of the LTA for procurement compliance. As part of the collaboration, the LTA received electronic equipment to strengthen its use of Liberia’s national E-Procurement platform.

The initiative highlights growing regional efforts to use digital infrastructure and public-sector technologies to strengthen governance, improve procurement processes and support more accountable institutions across Africa.
