Yas Tanzania, through its broadband division Yas Fiber, has announced a significant long-term investment that aims to accelerate Zanzibar’s digital transformation and expand access to high-speed internet connectivity. Through a strategic partnership with the Zanzibar Information and Communication Technology Infrastructure Agency (ZICTIA) and the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar, the initiative will strengthen digital infrastructure across the islands of Unguja and Pemba, supporting the region’s vision for a more connected and digitally empowered future.
As part of the agreement, Yas Fiber plans to invest approximately TZS 300 billion over the next 20 years to develop and expand fiber-optic infrastructure throughout Zanzibar.
