First Capital Bank Botswana has partnered with PayInc to drive deeper financial inclusion and enhance cross-border payments between Botswana and South Africa. The collaboration integrates PayInc’s Transactions Cleared on an Immediate Basis (TCIB) multi-currency, cross-border platform into FCB Botswana’s systems, enabling seamless, fast, and secure digital transactions across both markets.

By leveraging PayInc’s interoperable payments infrastructure, the partnership aims to broaden access to the growing digital payments ecosystems in Botswana and South Africa. This approach ensures cost-effective transactions while promoting the adoption of formal, trusted financial channels, making cross-border payments more efficient and reliable for both individuals and businesses operating between the two economies.

Cross-border remittances, particularly from South Africa to Botswana, provide a vital financial lifeline for households and contribute significantly to economic stability. The partnership recognizes the importance of these transactions, not only for family support but also as a driver of economic growth, supporting commerce, trade, and financial empowerment across the region.

Meera Sunker, Head of TCIB at PayInc, emphasized that as economic integration accelerates within the SADC region, there is a growing need for efficient and affordable payment systems. By collaborating with FCB Botswana and extending the network to other regional participants, the initiative represents a meaningful step toward a more inclusive, accessible, and efficient payments ecosystem.

Through this strategic partnership, FCB Botswana and PayInc aim to empower communities and businesses across the region, enhancing financial accessibility, strengthening cross-border commerce, and reinforcing the adoption of digital payment solutions. The initiative reflects a long-term commitment to fostering financial inclusion, regional connectivity, and economic resilience.
