These changes reflect the fintech’s deep commitment to building a secure, compliant, and sustainable digital payments ecosystem across Africa and beyond. The appointments bring in leaders with decades of experience and demonstrate Flutterwave’s proactive approach to adapting its leadership structure to meet evolving industry demands.

Prashant Kalia has been appointed as Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. With decades of global experience spanning roles at Stripe, American Express, and other leading financial institutions, he brings a wealth of expertise in risk management, compliance, and building robust regulatory frameworks. His appointment underscores Flutterwave’s commitment to safeguarding its operations while ensuring that its payment infrastructure remains reliable and trusted worldwide.

He takes over from Mo Bammeke, who has successfully served as Chief Compliance Officer for the past five years. Mr. Bammeke will now transition into the role of Chief Regulatory & Data Protection Officer, where he will continue to play a critical role in guiding Flutterwave’s compliance strategies, with a particular focus on data protection and regulatory alignment. This shift allows the company to sharpen its focus on the increasingly important area of data governance in a fast-changing global digital economy.

Additionally, Flutterwave has appointed Oluwabankole Falade as Chief Legal, Regulatory & Public Policy Officer. His expanded role will strengthen the fintech’s engagement with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, ensuring that Flutterwave maintains constructive relationships while navigating complex regulatory landscapes. His appointment reflects the company’s recognition that legal and regulatory expertise is central to enabling long-term growth.

Meanwhile, Amaresh Mohan, who has served as Chief Risk Officer, is stepping down from his position after helping Flutterwave build and strengthen its Risk function. He will, however, continue to contribute to the company’s journey by serving as a Strategic Advisor to both Prashant Kalia and Olugbenga Agboola, Flutterwave’s Founder and CEO. This transition ensures continuity in leadership and strategy as Flutterwave enters its next phase of growth.

According to Olugbenga Agboola, these leadership changes mark a significant step in Flutterwave’s journey toward scaling its operations globally while reinforcing security and compliance at the core of its business. By strengthening its leadership team with experienced global professionals, Flutterwave is laying the foundation for continued innovation, sustainable growth, and enhanced trust across the markets it serves.
