NITDA, in collaboration with the Enugu MSME and Startup Agency, has concluded the Enugu Kids Coding and Emerging Technology Bootcamp, equipping primary and secondary school students with practical skills in digital and emerging technologies.
The programme introduced participants to a range of technologies expected to shape Nigeria’s digital future, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics and Automation, Drone Technology, Autonomous Systems and 3D Design.
The bootcamp was designed to give young Nigerians early hands-on exposure to emerging technologies while encouraging them to explore how digital tools can be applied to real-world challenges.
Representing NITDA’s South-East Zonal Director, Ikechukwu Eze encouraged participants to build on the knowledge gained during the programme, embrace innovation and look beyond the classroom as they develop into future technology leaders.
The initiative also recognised participants’ achievements, with certificates presented to all students. Outstanding performers received laptops and tablets in recognition of their performance during the bootcamp.
NITDA said programmes such as the Enugu Kids Coding and Emerging Technology Bootcamp form part of broader efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s digital talent pipeline by giving young people an early foundation in emerging technologies.
By introducing students to advanced fields at an early stage, the initiative seeks to prepare a new generation of innovators with the skills needed to participate meaningfully in Nigeria’s digital transformation and contribute to the country’s growing digital economy.
