Safaricom Ethiopia has highlighted the importance of interoperability, inclusive digital infrastructure and sustainable investment in supporting Ethiopia’s digital economy.
Speaking at the GSMA Workshop on Digital Africa, Safaricom Ethiopia CEO Wim Vanhelleputte emphasised the need for a connected and inclusive digital ecosystem aligned with the country’s Digital Ethiopia 2030 agenda and National Digital Payments Strategy.
Vanhelleputte also called for interoperable and real-time digital payment systems to expand participation in the digital economy and improve access to digital services.
Through M-PESA Ethiopia, Safaricom Ethiopia is supporting digital financial inclusion and innovation while contributing to efforts to build a more interconnected digital payments ecosystem.
The GSMA workshop brings together stakeholders to discuss collaboration, digital infrastructure and strategies for advancing Ethiopia’s digital future.
