MTN South Africa has celebrated the graduation of 80 young people from the Western Cape who successfully completed its Digital Skills for Digital Jobs (DS4DJ) programme, earning accredited qualifications in Data Analytics, Systems Development and Cybersecurity.
The graduates were selected from a competitive pool of 623 applicants and received industry-focused training designed to improve employability while supporting South Africa’s growing demand for digital talent. Women represented 63% of the graduating cohort, reflecting the programme’s commitment to increasing female participation in technology careers.
The DS4DJ programme forms part of MTN South Africa’s broader strategy to address the country’s digital skills gap by equipping young people with qualifications and practical skills for careers in high-demand technology sectors.
According to MTN South Africa, more than 1,600 young South Africans have benefited from the initiative over the past two years through partnerships involving the MTN SA Foundation, MTN Skills Academy, government, higher education institutions, non-profit organisations and training providers.
The company said the programme reinforces its commitment to digital inclusion by creating pathways to employment, entrepreneurship and long-term participation in South Africa’s digital economy.
As it congratulated the Class of 2026, MTN South Africa reaffirmed its commitment to investing in youth development and building a digitally skilled workforce that can drive innovation and inclusive economic growth.
