TowerCo of Africa (TOA) Uganda has officially handed over the Kokumu telecom site to MTN Uganda, strengthening the companies’ partnership to expand mobile connectivity and enhance digital infrastructure across Uganda.

The handover, completed on 16 July 2026, marks another milestone in the collaboration between the two companies following their earlier projects in the West Nile region. The Kokumu site is expected to support MTN Uganda’s network expansion strategy by improving mobile coverage, enhancing service quality and increasing network capacity in underserved communities.

According to TowerCo of Africa, the project demonstrates the value of long-term infrastructure partnerships in helping mobile network operators deploy services more efficiently. Through shared telecom infrastructure, operators can accelerate network rollout, reduce deployment costs and extend reliable connectivity to more people across the country.

The new telecom site is designed to strengthen network performance while providing individuals, businesses and local communities with improved access to digital services. The investment also supports Uganda’s broader digital transformation agenda by expanding reliable communications infrastructure where it is needed most.

TowerCo of Africa reaffirmed its commitment to working with MTN Uganda to build sustainable telecom infrastructure that connects more communities, supports economic development and drives digital inclusion across Uganda.
