MTN South Africa has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the North West province’s digital transformation through continued investment in network infrastructure and digital inclusion initiatives.

The commitment was announced following a high-level engagement between MTN South Africa’s Executive Committee, led by Deputy CEO Yolanda Cuba, and North West Premier Lazarus Kagiso Mokgosi alongside members of the Provincial Executive. The discussions formed part of MTN’s ongoing stakeholder engagement programme focused on strengthening collaboration with government and aligning investments with provincial development priorities.

As part of its 2026 investment strategy, MTN South Africa will invest more than R150 million to upgrade and expand network infrastructure across the North West province. The investment will improve connectivity at more than 1,000 network sites while extending 4G and 5G coverage to additional communities, supporting greater access to reliable digital services for residents and businesses.

MTN South Africa said it remains committed to working closely with government and strategic partners to promote inclusive economic growth, strengthen digital access and ensure more South Africans benefit from opportunities created by improved connectivity.
