Uganda’s Ministry of ICT and National Guidance has received 100 computers from dfcu Group and the dfcu Foundation to expand digital education and improve access to technology in underserved communities.
The donation follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ministry and dfcu last year and is aimed at strengthening digital inclusion by equipping schools with the technology needed to support teaching, learning and digital skills development. The computers will help students build practical ICT competencies required for success in an increasingly digital economy.
Beyond education, the partnership also supports Uganda’s Parish Development Model (PDM), with dfcu set to provide financial management training for Parish Chiefs and local Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs). The initiative is expected to strengthen financial literacy while improving the management of community development programmes.
The collaboration highlights the growing role of public-private partnerships in advancing Uganda’s digital transformation agenda by expanding technology access, promoting digital skills development and empowering communities through education and financial inclusion.
