South African remittance fintech eZi Remit has partnered with Mastercard to expand cross-border payment services, enabling eligible customers to send money from South Africa to 25 countries using Mastercard Move.
The collaboration is designed to deliver faster, more secure and accessible international money transfers, allowing recipients to receive funds through bank accounts, mobile wallets or cash collection points depending on the destination market.
The service supports key remittance corridors including Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana, India, Bangladesh, Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, helping migrant communities and underserved populations send money home more efficiently.
The partnership also aims to reduce the high cost of remittances in Sub-Saharan Africa by leveraging Mastercard’s global payment infrastructure to improve transaction speed, pricing transparency and access to formal financial services.
Mastercard Move currently supports money transfers across more than 200 countries and territories, processing transactions in over 150 currencies and connecting nearly 17 billion endpoints worldwide
