Jordan Schleck has clinched the top spot once again in the 120KM LOOP men’s elite category, finishing the 4th and final leg of the 2024 LOOP Safari Gravel Series at Vipingo Ridge with an impressive time of 4:40:50 hours. Schleck, who previously won the first leg of the series in Tatu City, showcased his endurance and skill against strong competition. Joel Kyaviro and Stanley Ngugi followed in second and third places with times of 4:57:37 hours and 5:00:55 hours, respectively.

In the women’s elite category, Aleper Mary made a remarkable comeback with a winning time of 6:26:16 hours, after securing third place in the Hells Gate Edition. Kendra Masige and Monica Jelimo secured second and third positions with times of 6:42:00 hours and 6:46:12 hours. The final leg also saw competitive performances in the 60KM and 20KM categories, with Rosemary Wairimu and Nicholas Barasa emerging as overall winners.

The series finale also recognized the top performing teams, with Black Mamba taking home the grand prize of KES 250,000, Kenyan Riders in second place winning KES 200,000, and Ariyas Solar Vortex securing third place with KES 150,000. The event saw new sponsors such as Visa joining in, with Huawei continuing as the prize money sponsor.

Eric Muriuki, CEO of LOOP Digital Financial Services, praised the final leg as a testament to the sport’s growth and competitive spirit. He highlighted the company’s dedication to expanding the series and fostering new partnerships, aiming to provide a platform that benefits both cyclists and corporate sponsors.

In addition to the competitive races, the event emphasized sustainability, with participants planting over 200 trees as part of environmental conservation efforts. Muriuki underscored the importance of such initiatives in combating climate change and promoting a greener future.

The LOOP Safari Gravel Series, organized by AMANI Project with LOOP DFS as title sponsors and Huawei as the prize money sponsor, successfully concluded its 2024 season, featuring categories for all levels of cyclists. The series began in Tatu City, followed by Iten, Hells Gate, and concluded at Vipingo Ridge.
