Exciting news from Noki Noki, the Congolese logistics startup, which has secured US$3 million in seed funding to expand its footprint across Central Africa and bolster operations in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Founded by Jonathan Yanghat in 2021, Noki Noki specializes in revolutionizing last-mile delivery with services like Noki Food for meal delivery, Noki Drive for grocery shopping, and Noki Pay, an integrated payment interface.

This funding, led by Uma Ventures, underscores confidence in Noki Noki’s potential to transform e-commerce and delivery in Africa, marking a significant milestone in its journey to become a leader in the region’s logistics sector. Jonathan Yanghat, CEO of Noki Noki, expressed gratitude for the support, highlighting the company’s rapid growth from humble beginnings with a few motorcycles to facilitating over 1 billion CFA francs in transactions in 2023.

Congolese startups like Noki Noki are pivotal in driving venture capital growth in Central Africa, with the country attracting US$62 million in funding last year alone. Vinay Vaswani, founder of Uma Ventures, praised Noki Noki’s strategic vision and market leadership, emphasizing their shared commitment to building tech-enabled infrastructure.

Operating in a competitive market alongside startups like Wikko and Vanoma, Noki Noki is poised to capitalize on the Central African last-mile delivery market, projected to reach US$2.35 billion by 2030. The new funding will fuel Noki Noki’s expansion across six markets and consolidate its presence in the DRC, tapping into the region’s burgeoning e-commerce landscape.

In parallel news, Angolan-origin startup Mano has entered Nigeria’s food delivery sector, offering innovative services aimed at enhancing customer experience.
