Farada Group, a Polish manufacturer of drones, is set to establish a drone manufacturing company in Kenya, marking a significant step in the expansion of its operations across Africa. Adam Cudny, Chairman of Farada Group, announced that the new drone plant will be located at Konza Technopolis, serving as a hub for drone production and innovation in the region.
During a display and demonstration event at Konza Technopolis, Adam Cudny highlighted that Farada Group has obtained all necessary regulatory approvals from the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) to operate drones in the country. He stated, “We have all the necessary approvals and have established a local company to implement the project.”
Farada Group specializes in manufacturing drones used for various applications, including wildlife surveillance, monitoring power lines, disaster management (such as floods and wildfires), and delivery of medical supplies and other goods. The company is a manufacturer, operator, and integrator of drones, offering robust solutions tailored for different sectors.
Joanna Rutkowski, Chief Operating Officer of Farada Group, outlined the target markets and applications for their drones in Kenya. She mentioned partnerships with Kenya Power and KETRACO for surveillance of power lines, collaboration with county governments for medical supply deliveries, and working with logistics companies for efficient goods transportation. Farada’s drones are capable of carrying payloads of up to 1000 kilograms, making them versatile for a range of industrial and humanitarian tasks.
The establishment of the drone manufacturing plant at Konza Technopolis underscores Farada Group’s commitment to advancing technological innovation and infrastructure development in Kenya and Africa.
