Mozambique has expressed its gratitude to Huawei for its significant contributions to the development of the country’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector. This recognition came during the Huawei 2024 Seeds for the Future Programme Award Ceremony, where Mozambican officials lauded Huawei for its pivotal role.
Among the distinguished guests at the ceremony were Wang Hejun, the Chinese ambassador to Mozambique, and Huawei’s general manager, Zhang Junming. Nearly 100 attendees gathered to celebrate the achievements of the programme.
Ambassador Hejun highlighted the continuous growth of the China-Mozambique comprehensive strategic alliance, emphasizing the rapid progress and fruitful outcomes in digital economy cooperation between the two countries.
Amilton Florêncio Alissone, Mozambique’s deputy minister of transport and communications, specifically praised Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future” programme. He noted that this initiative has been instrumental in nurturing a new generation of technology talents in Mozambique, which is crucial for advancing the country’s information technology landscape.
Alissone extended his gratitude to China for its ongoing support, recognizing the programme as foundational to Mozambique’s ICT development efforts.
