Huawei Kenya takes strides in empowering women through digital entrepreneurship training! Partnering with Computers for Schools Kenya and Mama Doing Good, Huawei recently trained 100 women from various table banking groups in Nairobi, equipping them with essential digital and entrepreneurial skills.
Maureen Mwaniki, Director, Public Affairs for Huawei Kenya, confirmed Huawei Kenya’s commitment as a technology leader to ensure that every person has the chance to get basic digital skills training that can help improve their day-to-day operations.
Not only will these beneficiaries benefit personally, but they’ll also share their newfound knowledge within their communities, fostering a ripple effect of empowerment. This initiative aligns with the Kenyan government’s goal of digitizing services and reaching 20 million Kenyans with digital skills in the next decade.
With the gender gap in mobile internet use narrowing, initiatives like these play a crucial role in promoting inclusivity and driving socio-economic growth.
