SES and CANAL+, the global media and entertainment group, have extended their strategic partnership through 2040 under a multi-year agreement covering satellite capacity across Europe, Africa and the Caribbean.

Under the renewed agreement, CANAL+ will use SES’s satellite infrastructure across several orbital positions to deliver premium video and pay TV services to its global subscriber base, which now exceeds 40 million viewers across 70 countries.

The agreement builds on a partnership spanning more than 30 years, during which SES has supported CANAL+ in delivering content to audiences across Europe and Africa.

Stéphane Baumier, Chief Technology Officer at CANAL+, said the agreement supports the group’s long-term growth and provides the flexibility and reliability needed to expand its international presence and serve an increasingly diverse subscriber base.

Deepak Mathur, President of the Media Vertical at SES, said the renewed agreement reflects the continuing importance of satellite infrastructure in delivering high-quality content reliably to global audiences.

The extension through 2040 provides a long-term framework for the companies to continue working together as CANAL+ expands its international operations. The partnership will support the delivery of premium video and pay TV services across multiple markets, including those in Africa and the Caribbean.
