Vodacom Lesotho has launched an Enterprise Satellite Connectivity Solution powered by Starlink’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology, aiming to strengthen internet access and connectivity resilience for businesses and public institutions across the country.
Launched in Maseru, the service is designed for organisations operating in remote, underserved or challenging environments. It offers primary satellite connectivity, backup internet access and an “Unbreakable Internet” model that combines satellite and terrestrial networks to help maintain service continuity during disruptions.
By integrating satellite broadband with existing connectivity infrastructure, Vodacom Lesotho aims to support organisations across sectors including financial services, agriculture, healthcare, logistics, education, tourism and public service delivery.
Vodacom Lesotho Chief Executive Officer Mohale Ralebitso said Lesotho’s geography requires practical and resilient connectivity solutions capable of reaching people and organisations wherever they operate.
Navindran Naidoo, Executive Head of Department for Non-Terrestrial Networks at Vodacom Group, said the partnership with Starlink combines satellite technology with Vodacom’s local support, installation expertise and managed-service capabilities to help organisations maintain connectivity during disruptions.
Nthati Moorosi, Lesotho’s Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, described the launch as a contribution to the country’s development agenda and efforts to build a connected, resilient, productive and inclusive digital society.
The service expands Vodacom Lesotho’s enterprise connectivity portfolio by adding satellite broadband as an option for organisations seeking reliable internet access, particularly in areas where terrestrial infrastructure is limited or vulnerable to disruption.
