Paratus Namibia has launched Eutelsat’s OneWeb Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite service in Namibia, expanding access to high-speed, low-latency connectivity for residential and commercial customers across the country.

The service combines LEO satellite connectivity with competitive pricing and Paratus’ customer management platform, giving users greater visibility and control over their data usage. Customers can choose from capped and uncapped packages, providing increased flexibility and control over their connectivity requirements.

The rollout is particularly aimed at locations where traditional terrestrial connectivity may be limited or unavailable. Customers will also benefit from the resilience and support of the wider Paratus network, while businesses can use the service as a secondary or backup connection to strengthen network redundancy and business continuity without the complexity of installing a second fixed line.

Paratus Namibia Managing Director Andrew Hall said the company is bringing its experience in LEO connectivity across Africa to the Namibian market. “Paratus has considerable LEO experience across the continent, and we can now deliver that scale and technical expertise to our customers here, together with competitive packages with much greater control over how they manage their connectivity,” he said.

Eutelsat Vice President for Africa Philippe Baudrier said the service would provide customers, particularly those in areas with limited terrestrial connectivity, with a reliable and high-performance alternative. Paratus Group CEO Schalk Erasmus added that the launch would extend connectivity capable of supporting everyday life and economic activity while strengthening the resilience of existing networks.

The Namibia rollout forms part of Paratus Group’s broader strategy to expand resilient, high-performance connectivity across Africa. It follows the multi-year agreement signed with Eutelsat in November 2025 to extend OneWeb LEO services across Southern Africa, including South Africa, Angola, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.
