Airtel Nigeria has completed the latest phase of its School Adoption Programme with a handover ceremony at St. George’s Primary School in Ipaja, Lagos.

The school was among 10 Airtel-adopted schools that received infrastructure upgrades under the programme. The projects included renovated classrooms, improved water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities, as well as new solar-powered ICT laboratories.

The handover ceremony, held on Monday, September 28, was attended by Airtel Nigeria executives and members of the company’s Employee Volunteer Programme.

The Airtel team was led by Director of Corporate Communications and CSR Femi Adeniran, Director of Human Resources and Administration Adebimpe Ayo-Elias, and Director of Internal Assurance Ngozi Akamelu. Regional Operations Director, Lagos, Tomiwa Odunjo, the Corporate Communications and CSR team, and other employee volunteers also participated.

During the event, Airtel employee Sherif Kolapo, an alumnus and former Head Boy of St. George’s Primary School, shared his experience with pupils. He reflected on his journey from the school’s classrooms to his career at Airtel and encouraged students to recognise the opportunities available to them.

The latest projects form part of Airtel Nigeria’s wider efforts to support improvements in learning environments, access to digital resources and essential school infrastructure.
