Spiro is expanding its technology skills development efforts in Uganda through the Spiro Academy, with Internet of Things (IoT) skills emerging as a key focus of its programmes.
The company’s first-ever all-women cohort is providing young women from local communities with practical technology skills while creating opportunities to explore careers in the technology sector.
The programme is designed to strengthen Uganda’s growing technology talent ecosystem by helping participants gain technical experience, build confidence and develop skills relevant to emerging industries.
Spiro said the initiative is highlighting women from Ground Breaker Talents, describing them as young women breaking barriers and contributing to the development of Uganda’s electric mobility sector.
The training forms part of Spiro Academy’s broader efforts to equip young people with technology capabilities while supporting the growth of electric mobility in Uganda.
With IoT playing an increasing role in connected electric mobility systems, the programme provides participants with exposure to technology skills that can support opportunities across the evolving mobility ecosystem.
Spiro said its investment in skills development is intended to contribute to a stronger pipeline of local talent while creating greater opportunities for young women to participate in technology-driven industries.
