Ghana’s Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, through the One Million Coders Programme, has commenced a five-day Training of Trainers programme focused on Datacom and Access Network Technologies.
The training began on August 31, 2026, at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT and will run until September 4.
The initiative is part of the government’s efforts to develop a critical mass of skilled ICT trainers who can transfer practical digital and networking skills to citizens across Ghana.
Certified technical experts from Huawei Technologies are delivering the programme through expert-led lectures, hands-on practical sessions and competency assessments.
Participants are receiving intensive training in Datacom and Access Network Technologies, equipping them with practical knowledge and skills to support digital capacity building.
Those who successfully complete the programme are expected to become certified One Million Coders Programme trainers and train at least 20 members of the public, extending the impact of the initiative to a wider pool of citizens.
The government expects the programme to strengthen Ghana’s digital skills ecosystem and equip more people with the technological competencies needed to participate in the country’s evolving digital economy.
The One Million Coders Programme remains a key national initiative focused on developing Ghana’s digital workforce and preparing citizens for emerging opportunities across the technology sector.
