M-PESA Ethiopia has launched ATM cash withdrawal services in partnership with Bank of Abyssinia, allowing customers to withdraw cash from supported ATMs without using a physical bank card.
The new service enables M-PESA customers to access their funds directly through the M-PESA app. Users can select the withdrawal option, choose “Withdraw at ATM”, authorise the transaction and complete the required authentication before collecting cash from a supported ATM.
According to M-PESA Ethiopia, transactions are processed in real time, giving customers immediate access to their funds. The service is available around the clock, providing customers with a cardless option for accessing cash while on the move.
The integration with Bank of Abyssinia is expected to expand to additional banks, supporting greater interoperability between M-PESA and Ethiopia’s banking system.
The launch adds another access point to M-PESA Ethiopia’s digital payments ecosystem and reflects the continued shift toward mobile-based financial services that give customers greater flexibility in managing and accessing their money.
