MTN Rwanda has launched Voice over LTE (VoLTE), introducing high-definition voice calling over its 4G LTE network as part of its ongoing network modernisation programme and commitment to enhancing digital connectivity across the country.
The new service enables customers with compatible devices to make clearer HD voice calls, benefit from faster call setup times and enjoy improved call reliability. Unlike traditional voice services, VoLTE also allows users to continue browsing, streaming and using mobile data over the 4G network while on a voice call.
According to MTN Rwanda, the rollout forms part of its continued investment in strengthening Rwanda’s digital infrastructure and delivering next-generation communication services. The operator said the technology is designed to improve network performance while meeting growing demand for faster, more reliable mobile connectivity.
The launch supports MTN Rwanda’s broader strategy to modernise its network, enhance customer experience and contribute to Rwanda’s digital transformation agenda by expanding access to advanced mobile technologies for individuals, businesses and communities.
