Following the resignation of Chief Executive Officer Dr. Stanley Shanapinda, the Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Armando Perny as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective 1 July 2026, for an initial period of one month. The appointment reflects the Board’s commitment to maintaining strong leadership while the process of recruiting a substantive CEO gets underway. With extensive experience and a deep understanding of Telecom Namibia’s operations, strategy, and business priorities, Mr. Perny is expected to provide steady leadership during this important transition.

The Board expressed full confidence in Mr. Perny’s ability to guide the organization through this interim period while maintaining focus on operational performance, customer service, and strategic execution. His appointment is intended to ensure business continuity and organizational stability as Telecom Namibia continues delivering critical telecommunications services to customers, businesses, and public sector institutions across the country. By placing an experienced internal leader at the helm, the company aims to minimize disruption while preserving momentum across its ongoing strategic initiatives.

Alongside the CEO transition, Telecom Namibia also announced the resignation of two other senior executives. The company’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Chief Finance Officer (CFO) have formally tendered their resignations, effective 30 June 2026 and 30 September 2026, respectively. Their efforts have played an important role in supporting Telecom Namibia’s operational growth and strategic development.

To maintain operational continuity, the Board confirmed that appropriate interim leadership arrangements will be communicated in line with the company’s governance frameworks and succession planning processes. Recruitment for the permanent CEO, CFO, and CCO positions will commence through approved corporate procedures to ensure the appointment of qualified leaders capable of driving Telecom Namibia’s long-term vision. These planned transitions demonstrate the company’s commitment to strong corporate governance, leadership succession, and sustainable organizational management.

Despite the executive changes, Telecom Namibia reaffirmed its commitment to operational excellence, financial discipline, innovation, and the successful execution of its strategic mandate. The company emphasized that its leadership team remains fully focused on delivering value to customers, employees, shareholders, and other stakeholders while ensuring uninterrupted business operations.
