Zepz, the global payments group behind WorldRemit and Sendwave (International Remittance), has announced a leadership transition as Chief Executive Officer and Board Director Mark Lenhard prepares to step down from his role in the coming weeks. The company’s Board of Directors has appointed Barrie Morris, currently Chief Financial Officer, to serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer while the search for a permanent successor gets underway.
Barrie Morris brings more than 25 years of financial services experience to the role and has served as Zepz’s Chief Financial Officer since 2023. During his tenure, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s financial strategy and reinforcing its operational and capital foundations. His leadership has helped guide the organization through a period of transformation, positioning the company for continued growth and operational resilience.
The leadership change comes at a time when Zepz has demonstrated strong financial performance and operational momentum. In 2025 alone, the company facilitated more than $17 billion in customer transfers and processed over 120 million transactions across more than 130 countries. The business also recorded 25 percent revenue growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 and expects approximately 20 percent year-on-year revenue growth in 2026, while achieving cash flow profitability.
Under Mark Lenhard’s leadership, Zepz underwent a significant strategic transformation that strengthened its global payments platform and expanded its product offerings. In recent months, the company launched the Sendwave Wallet across more than 100 countries and acquired Pomelo, expanding its capabilities in card and credit services as part of its broader mission to evolve into a platform for financial empowerment.
According to Melissa Reiter Birge, Chair of the Zepz Board of Directors, the Board has full confidence in Barrie Morris and the executive leadership team to guide the company through this transition.
